Dorm Branding
Context
At Cedarville University, the dorms “St. Clair” and “McChesney” are combined under one Resident Director, who, at the beginning of the year, said, “Don’t sleep on St. Chesney.”
As a call toward unification and student involvement in school events, this was the inspiration for the dorm shirt design.
Design Process
- Took pictures of myself draped in a blanket in front of a mirror for cloak accuracy
- Created sketches based on the pictures and created a comp in the computer
- Received feedback and modified the design for final application
Design Decisions
- I chose to incorporate the merging of the two dorms and the theme of duality in the design with the half-face of the saint and the logo of St. Chesney
- The somewhat menacing tone of the shirt is meant to jokingly match the tone of the Resident Director
